When I deliver this load tomorrow...I will have topped 10k paid miles (without the help of ghost miles)for the 1st time in 3 months

We are surrounded by Philistines, who have never seen the funniest movie ever made... I just sigh for the next generation... They couldn't MAKE BS today.

 

This is what happens because of deregulation and as one economist specializing in trucking called it: "The race to the bottom for shipping fees."

Companies get screwed, which means drivers get screwed. Consumers get .10 cents off a product, all on the backs of us folks who get it to them to buy.

And it's every bit as bad for O/Os, who have to run the risk of major financial exposure, run a business while STILL working the 90 hour weeks we do, and make a whopping extra $10-15k a year for the risk and extra work.

Meanwhile, SHIPPERS/Recievers are making out like bandits. They don't even pay to load/unload their own crap. They pay lumpers to do what should be a $15+ an hour job for $7.50+ a 70% surcharge, with no insurance, workers comp or other issues to deal with.

The american consumer is paying 10% less (at most) for their stuff, while consigning a million people or so to slave wages for hours most people wouldn't even THINK about working. (forget the time away from home).

I'm not a big social justice guy, but JFC, there is something seriously wrong with that picture.

 

You know, I voted for Trump today, but I may fill you in on the ballot in September! Truckers for Jubal 2016!!
