lets, not call it complaining, lets call it telling it like it is from your experience, you dont do a service to anyone keeping your mouth shut, its turned into a dumbed down slave industry, trying to plan your trips around elogs with the shippers these days is exhausting. too many brainwashed drivers, "our company is expanding" lol thats the oldest trick in the book. carry on snackbar carry on.

Wow ah most of us are doing well, including people who don't regularly post here, believe me if I were getting what @supersnackbar is getting then I'd be looking too, but for whatever reason there's a personality clash...not assigning blame just saying.

I can see how our model would not work for everyone, but we are a company that focuses on outbound freight from Fargo and MN, once you get that in your head you can start working around what's best for you.

Our pay is also variable so some do well and others don't, I also see some folks who spend a lot of time sitting by their own choice, one driver has a wife who does pretty well and he just likes driving trucks so everybody has different financial needs.

Calling someone brainwashed is a bit harsh, I did my research and this works, maybe you'd hate it, I know lots of my van buddies shudder at the thought of sitting at a dock like we do here.

As for linehaul hey if you like that then yeah go for it, not my cup of tea personally, but to each his own...

It does no good. He's not unhappy with Magnum he's just unhappy.

If you have to rely on a constant unrealistic amount of miles then you're expenses are too high.

Ive had exactly what I was promised here plus some. So did my friend, that recently left. Not because he wasn't making money. He got just as good of miles as I have been. He left because he has a wife and small children at home.

OTR is not for everyone. To pin it all on mileage and pay is not always appropriate .

You keep saying the grass is greener on the other side. I promise you it's not.

You thought it was when you left Prime, Crete, Poly and now the problem is Magnum.

Maybe the problem is not the companies, but maybe your expectations.

You seem to seek out the negative in every situation you're in.

Matter of fact you complained about a haul from Grand Forks to Stillwell, OK because it had a little less than a thousand miles. You sure didn't have a problem dropping it in the yard and letting another driver take it (with less miles than it began with.)

I took that same haul, I didn't have a problem with it. It still paid pretty well.

Lighten up. We can't fix your problems. We can try to help you, but it's up to you to take the advice and help yourself.

You're right...how dare I expect to earn any more in 2016 than I did in 2003. I am on course to make ALMOST $50K if I were to stay here. How dare I expect to average more than 325 miles a day, for 6 months, while I am expected to stay out 4 to 6 weeks.

As for why I left Crete...the exact same issue I am having here...piss poor planning and piss poor miles. As for Poly, it all came down to equipment issues and a shop that didn't have a clue how to fix it correctly. When your (and many other driver's)equipment can't go 10k without leaving you on the side of the road every week, it becomes intolerable...and when word came down that no new equipment was going to be purchased for 2 years, the likelyhood of those equipment problems improving didn't seem remotely plausible. So I saw no positive future there.

As for the OK run I dropped, it wasn't the run itself, but the excessive time on it, the fact that it was yet ANOTHER 300 mile per day load that I had issues with. I believe someone on here said that sometimes you just have to say no to unproductive loads...but when I finally do that exact piece of advice, it's wrong? Last time I checked, we were expected to run at least 10k/month. At 325 miles a day, that means I can't sit one day without failing to achieve that expectation...let alone take any time to visit my home once every other month.

I don't come to the forum for help...I come to post my experiences here so that perspective drivers can come here and see that not everyone is succeeding. I post what is happening to me, good or bad. If that offends some, then oh well...I say what I gotta say. And over the years I have been doing it, I have received many more supportive positive responses than negative ones.

Based on mileage I'm assuming it came out of Jamestown. Why would you send a empty truck right past there going to Fargo to get their load so you can go pick it up. This puts some revenue on the truck to help defer the cost of the deadhead. Reduces your non revenue miles. That's just good dispatching reducing non revenue miles.

They have already taken a stand on cheap freight. Pulled out of a customer in CO when they cut the rates and are now deadheading people out of there.

When I dispatched I would same exact thing.

I am still trying to figure out how 750 miles is worse than zero miles sitting in Fargo all weekend.

Doing that with an empty truck is fine, but don't tell the driver he is getting a 1000 mile run, then drop his expected miles to 760 without giving him the option of passing on the load if the decision was made to load the other truck came after you spoke to the 1st driver...just changing things without warning appears deceptive. If it's 760, say it's 760 when you offer it. If it was 1000, then the other option becomes available, pick up the phone or send a message. Remember that "c" word we are encouraged to use...as in communication, it works both ways.

As for the other option, I would have a 34 and a fresh 70 to run hard out of the Fargo gate close to the beginning of the start of a new pay period. Now, low miles and no restart so I am on recap which will continue to limit how much I can make up for another slow start.
