Doesn't the expenses end up under 'non taxable income'?? That's what it appears like to me....

    WalterSobchak Thanks this.

I've been hearing this as well from other drivers. They also cited 3 weeks as the happy medium.
I stayed out 2 days short of 5 weeks this last time. It was the upper end of what I plan to run. 3 to 4 weeks out will be more typical. I'm on 4 days of hometime right now. For me personally the rule of thumb of one day off for every week out works good.

They were a day late getting me home so Im going to be a day later going back out. After 2 months you should definitely do the same. I didn't even have to request it, Jeremy asked me.

Viking Trucker, hmmmm I like that. :D

I can't wait for the day we get the peoplenet message of some unsuspecting soul being assigned truck 1508. The horror those sleeper walls have seen.

Kind of confused about the preferred fuel purchase states.

Passed through Idaho which is a "don't purchase" state and fuel was .30c cheaper a gallon than in the "purchase" state of Washington.

To get the real price of fuel you must subtract the pump price from the state fuel tax amount. I'm going to guess Washington has a much hi her fuel tax than ID.

The Crete thread is surely doomed!

reimbursements should not be taxable income.

Posted pump prices are for cash and single transaction credit customers. Large companies negotiate fuel prices with vendors and usually steer clear of states with higher tax. The really big companies like Schneider and Swift, actually pre purchase fuel by the millions of gallons with huge bulk discounts.
