Started yesterday in Fremont, IN and delivered to Aurora, IL at 1600. Got there a little early and then headed to Bedford Park, IL southeast of 55 and 294 after I had 2 hours off duty. Fought traffic the entire way in the middle of evening traffic. Got there, loaded & out andwith oil before my appt time. Not going to lie, I saw that it was oil amd I was more than a little bummed that I wasn't going to be making $30\hr for this load (again I came here from the oil field). Had to mess with the broken pin to slide my tandems 3 times last night as the fix that i came up with in Delaware was a one-time use kind of deal. That ate up precious hours off my already rediculously tight schedule. Drove as far as I could and shut down in Lyndon Station, WI for an 8 hour break. Ended up making it to Mills Fleet Farm in Hudson, WI in the cities area with 7 minutes to spare. Got to the shop and explained the pin problem and showed them the squared off tires that I inherited in Delaware a few days ago and got the trailer in a bay. Glad I didn't get stopped on the way. Picking up a preload headed for another tour of the oven mitt on Sunday that delivers the first drop near Motor City pot-crater land on Tuesday AM.

I was fortunate and my trailer was loses, but it took some time to get it out of its slot, it was in diagonally! Hope your loaded soon, you are on a stocking run so hey if the appointment needs to be changed then so be it, good detention money though!WalterSobchak and Pigbacon Thank this. -
That's great about your daughter. I remember when mine was that age. She would be what? 11? 12? That's a great age for dads and daughters. It's when they turn about 16 that you just decide suicide is the best option...runningman0661 Thanks this. -
I'm getting paid more than I think I could get anywhere else short of teaming. I'm getting 2800 miles a week +. I have great equipment, hassle free dispatch and no micromanagement.
And that's all great. But it doesn't mean the company walks on water. Sometimes they screw up. Sometimes it's screwed up BAD. And if we can't talk honestly about it here, this thread has little value. I complained a lot for a while and got some really useful tips. And Hell, sometimes you just wanna dump because a load sucks, etc. I feel your pain. Been in that same situation and it stinks. Hopefully things even out real soon.JoeB, HeavyHauler33 and carramrod32 Thank this. -
So can someone school me on reading the recap hours on peoplenet? I can do it on paper logs. I can do it on qualcomm. Peoplenet, I do it wrong (And so does the dispatcher) EVERY time. Because I basically just put myself behind the 8-ball rather than fiddle a bit and catch a reset. *I* thought (And so did ashley) that I had 8 hours coming back to me for Sat. Turns out I had 2! How the Hell do you read that 8-day display CORRECTLY? I'm gonna play Holy Hell making my delivery on time on Monday and I thought I had basically, 8 for Sat, then 10 and 10. Looks now like I got 2, 4 and 8. Sadly Bryce gave us all of 5 monutes on the peoplenet in orientation, so I've been trying to figure it, and I'm wrong every time it matters, so clearly I don't get it. And as I said, this is the second time Dispatch has made the exact same mistake as I did from looking at it.

yes I know about her age. This is just before they think you are dumbest person in the world. Ahe is pretty shy that keeps her out of a little bit of trouble too. I also have a son that's 24. So quite a age difference between them.Jubal3 Thanks this. -
From there I pull up the 8 day view, at first I took a pics of paper and put the hrs I'd be getting back for each day of the week I coming up soon knew roughly how many hrs I'd have assuming I had zero each night at midnight. It's easier now, but that helped me. Of course don't forget we are always using the CST clock for recaps, and yes multiple sleeper spits can confuse things.
Remember during work hours calling Bryce is not a big deal, he's there to help and will happily go over your logs with you. Hope this helps. -
There is a app called recap that I use. You can mark were your 34 ended and it will show when hours are regained everyday
It does everything on figuring recap hours and resets. Makes it real easy -
I'm at the TA a few miles east of Golden, Co. Still no load. They're still waiting on product. I was told to check back again this afternoon. They did at least give me a phone number so I don't have to go over there again.
Looks like I will be getting a 34 here. Hopefully it will be ready no later than tomorrow am. Nick told me to just sit tight, I'm being paid for it, so that's what I'm doing.
