Called into the east fill in dispatcher and asked if they wanted me on thursday or fridays board to see if they wanted me to take a 34 since I will only have 14 hours on my 70 after I deliver and don't pick up any till Friday at midnight. Was told it was to far out and that they would figure something out

 

Honestly...it's a toss up on AMT. I use to hate the thought of ever driving one, but the ole' man's knees ain't what they use to be, and traffic/construction is only gonna get worse, so I am warming to the idea. But yea, after moving into this one...the 579 ain't so bad. This is a whole lot better loaner than Poly ever had, but I don't think it would be my choice for a long term commitment, unless there was nothing better.

 

Had a great experience at Menards dc in Shelby this time. Delivered my load and they already had my next trailer loaded. Ready to head out 1st thing in the am.

 

Still think you should have grabbed a 17.

 

I love my 17, though I needed them to turn on all of the functionality in the tranny and it's nowhere near as advanced as the Volvo or Freightliner systems.

It is even nicer in the mountains than congestion though, I have quickly gotten spoiled by not having to constantly change gears when I'm climbing heavy.

 

What the heck, how do you rate

 

Winnyf1, bet that amt is great doing this Portland run. Really nice doing the trip into Jamestown. Love driving the mountains, hate the shifting.

 

Yeah had the truck out there once, and yes given the detuned MX-13 we run it was nice to not have to change so much. Enjoy the sights though, that's an awesome run.

 

Well, where's the fun in that?
