Jenny O loads usually are 3-5 drops for me. Always some kind of detention. I had a 4 dropper in North Carolina. I played zig zag.Went from Charlotte to Lexington back to Charlotte then to Concord. Would have made since for the 2 Charlottes & Lexington/Concord. It is what it is thou. Atleast I was getting paid for something instead of sitting. Can't expect 12k every month to happen.

I work for a small regional company up here in MI. We do mainly automotive. This week was two trips to McCalla, AL and back. Slept in my own bed Tuesday night and got home Friday around 13:30. 3200 or so paid miles for the week.

Well as of 2300 last night, no one. I quit my somewhat regional job last night. I was hauling produce for a friends 8 truck company here in So Cal. But it got to be way too many hours on paper logs. At 63 I have had enough of 20 hour days and the LTL side was starting to wear heavily on me too. Dragging 2000+ lb pallets from the nose to the rear is a much younger mans game. So I quit and I am taking most of September off. Staying home for a week and then heading to Texas to visit my wifes family for 11 days. Then another week off and hopefully starting with another 3 state company, Lexmar, after that. They are a dry van, truckload company based out of So Cal and I will drive mainly in Cali, Utah, Nevada and Arizona. It should still afford me my weekends off and not be such a physical strain on me. Getting old is not for sissies!!

Just a little FYI. Always remember to double check your set temp on preloaded trailers. Picking up in St. Cloud. The load was loaded yesterday according to the shipping office,(says 1900 today on peoplenet). Go to pickup my trailer, load info AND b/l say -10...trailer was set at 22. Reported it to shipping folks, they're gonna pull the load and fix it. I will also note it on my load msg in case something goes amiss in the future in regards to freight claims. And here I thought my luck was changing and I was going to get out of a customer a little early for a change...

Yep took a load with extra days that allowed me to stop home, no layover but good food and my own bed!
