Don't pick Transam. If your an experienced driver, you can only get on if you become an L/O. You will also be automatically considered a thief and incompentent. By that, I mean that you will have to get authorization for any exenpensis ( crappy spelling I know), all the way down to a $2.17 fax. They have also decided to start a new, annoy a driver program, by sending the driver......every day......a message...... that his trk is due a PM........ 2 months in advance. Guess the senior staff has developed senility, and just assumes that everyone else has it also.

If I ever get back into trucking, I gave TransAm a chance and succeeded. I have thought about trying out Marten. They go all over the country! gotta be some miles there. Dry van got old w/JB. So I may go back to Reefer or possibly hauling mail.

I know they are a lot smaller than the other two. That right their would make me go their. Their equipment looks good when I see them on the road. Just because you dont hear about them dont mean its bad their. It could mean good things because drivers are not bad mouthing them. The old "no news is good news". Find out more about Baylor. They may be the best bet. Let us know what you find out.

there are plenty of comment for / against Marten here.
But if you like Forced perdeim pay, OTR drivers doing regional loads or picking up long loads, only to be told to drop them a the nearest rail yard come on over.

Also if you like getting lower rate per mile the longer your trip is...whether you run the whole thing or not. Getting your time off requests treated like "we'll throw a dart and if it hits the bulls-eye, sure we'll get you home then". As well as a general don't give a crap attitude from the Ops staff...including your fleet manager in some cases... Marten is your place to be.

Put this way...in the spring I'll be with Marten 7 years......and I'm not even sure I'll stick around to the end of the year. And I HATE changing jobs.

i know henderson trucking out of salem illinois is a great choice you get the miles mostly long runs and you get home time when you request it 1or2 weeks before hometime oh and we are a lease purchase companybut i think were going to start a company driver again mantainese is the best you can always get something done right but some times they will send you to somewhere else to get it fixed the equipment is nice freightliner cascadias and columbias plus they have carrier apus on all lease truck there is no down payment the columbia are 18 month lease and cascadias are 3 to4 years or 2 and all the trucks have chains for the winter overall i give them a 9 out of 10
