I have placed a for sale thread for my PC Miler 550. I am selling it and will be getting a Rand McNally Intelliroute 500 due to more convenient to use, especially the scrolling aspect in POI's etc.. That is my biggest complaint with my PC Miler. The scrolling feature is aggravating! I am tired of being scrolled past the POI's that I want, and going back over and over again until I can pinpoint and select the one I want. Why not put an up down button icon in it for scrolling?
May sell PC Miler

How does it do otherwise? Is its routing accurate?

In training I was driving south on I-5 from Weed to Fresno, about halfway there, PCMiler says make a U-turn as soon as possible lol.
If your Rand McNally says that, (it probably will, they all do) you can at least send in that error to Rand and they will update the mistake and the update will be available within a week or so for everyone with Rand who hooks it to internet enabled computer to download the updates. Thousands of mistakes around the country are sent in this way and corrected. Low bridges, non truck routes, friendly POI etc. -
scottied67 and Dieselboss Thank this.

In all fairness to Rand and PCM. Just want to clarify this just a bit.
1. It takes a bit longer than a "week or so" to see a routing change sent to Rand to make it back out to the units. lol
2. The same thing can be done with the PCM units. But they use a program called MapSure instead of typing into the unit itself like the Rand does. The page is located here: http://www.alk.com/Maps/map_updates.asp
And you are correct. In addition to the underlying map database changes from their mapping departments and 3rd party providers, "Thousands of mistakes around the country are sent in this way and corrected" - at both companies.
