At my current company, a driver had just gone through the approval process to work for the closest Wally D/C. Once officially hired, gave the customary 2 weeks notice to her current company, and was instantly put out of service by them because they said she had a physical from the new company, thus voiding her original Med Card. Before the driver could complete the last 2 weeks, the company paid for her to go take another physical from this company's doctor. When she called her new company, explained what had taken place, and asked if she was going to have to take a new physical from them...she was told no, as long as the doctors were both on the DOT/FMCSA database. Sounds like a money-grab to me. There needs to be a universal med card, since they are making doctors go thru the process(and expense) of getting on a registered database.
Med card is good why do new companys do it again
