So I had an appointment this week to get a new medcard. I wasn’t feeling well so I canceled my DOT physical and got a covid test. I just found out today that I’m positive. My current medcard expires in 8 days.

My question is can I self certify as interstate exempt for the time being so my license doesn’t get downgraded. Obviously I won’t be able to drive commercially until I get a new medcard and certify correctly. I’m just trying to prevent my license from being downgraded. (Currently our registry of motor vehicles is appointment only and my town is 2-3 weeks out for an appointment. After I recover and get my medcard I can’t afford to wait that long for an appointment to get my license back to where it should be).

    I live in MA

You can put a hold on your cdl, tell them at the revenue Dept. your not driving and are wanting exempt status, that’ll not let your cdl expire, but you have to get a med card to renew your license to cdl, because without med card it’ll show on computer to be downgraded even though your license in possession says cdl

I believe the same aisle as the vinyl log book covers and steering wheel knobs, next to the vent window locks.

Nothing on the CDL medical exam about Covid. Put on a mask and go get the physical.
