Laws differ from state to state some states like california keep an medical card on file with your cdl and if it expires so does your cdl....
Other states do not have that practice... But some do and it seems more and more are jumping on the california band wagon.... Its a matter of revenue..... Check with your state so you are not taking money out of your family budget to pay for the state budget !!!!

This can be as easy as bringing the form to your own Doctor or making an appt at a special clinic that does this as routine.

I presume no one answered this as you need to call your facilities and ask. Prices are not fixed across the country.

2yrs ago, my family doctor did it. I see him often enough and he filled it out w/o charge.

This month I made an appt with a DR I have never seen before. I wanted to make sure they did a REAL DOT physical. I passed. My insurance covers 1 physical per year - now, if we can list that as such, it should be free. I guess it depends on how the DR will code my visit in my case.

Call your place (hospital?) ask them. If they have the forms (like my new DR did) thats a good sign. Otherwise, you can always hit a clinic that companies send drivers too..such as:

    http://www.concentra.com/Patient-Services/Physical-Examinations/

Best to call around and ask in YOUR area...

Ok. After a nerve racking decision to retry my CDL test and risk another $150.00 that I didnt have to lose. I retook my test at a local college testing site. The guy giving the test was very professional. He did an excellent job of explaining exactly what he wanted. After the test was finished he said I did an excellent job. I know its been a couple years but I used to run Detroit to California and Chicago to Florida. I knew I wasn't that bad that I couldn't pass a freekin pretrip.

So now comes the hard part. who to drive for...

All you gotta do is go to a doc-in-a-box place and ask for a dot physical. It's not a thorough physical anyways and not all that expensive. Most big companies have you checked out and issue one anyways.
