Not sure who caught the Lockridge report on Friday, but a driver called in and said he was of Mensa caiber, and knew of other drivers as such. He was upset because a caller on Thursday called all truckers stupid.
I'm wondering if this guy on Friday works for SWIFT? One of my friends from HS works in accounting at the local SWIFT terminal. Recently a bunch of us met for dinner and drinks, she brought copies of a couple of logs/trip pak sheets and was showing them to me (Names and truck numbers were whited out).
According to one driver, he drove 1,900 miles without stopping for fuel, and idled the truck for 10 hrs in 5 deg. temps.
Another driver showed he drove 400 miles, then had 5 hrs of standby at a dock, then drove another 500 miles.
A 3rd showed over the course of 3 days of logs, he took a load from Dallas to Denver in 10 hrs, took his 10 off, then drove another 2 hrs to Wal-Mart in Loveland, spent 4 hrs unloading, then made it to SLC in 8 hrs, took 10 hrs off, loaded then drove to Alb., all with only one fuel stop in Dallas.
A 4th on his trip pak showed he drove 2,400 miles in 3 days, yet his log books showed he did it in 5 days and he couldn't explain the difference.

Sure, there are some real bone-headed idiots out there. There are also some pretty ###### smart individuals. Same can be said about ANY profession.
simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
There are many "Mensa" caliber drivers out here.
Someone showing you a few/lot of idiots, reminds me of Washington, DC and elections.
Why do we as Americans continue to elect "lawyers, instead of regular everyday people to these offices ??
A NORMAL person wouldn't need 2500 pages to make shop lifting a crime. Nor would it be so convoluted that it took 5 lawyers, 3 English professors, and 10 Judges to figure out what they were talking about.
Stupid is, as stupid does. -
I assume thats part of the problem why companies are going to paperless logs, and also making solo drivers team up.example: crst/cr england/us xpress
