Already working on that. I was just relaying current situation from email a friend who's still there sent me. so hopefully others can be aware before getting roped in by their sales pitch. They like to leave alot of the important information out till your leased on.

Kottke Trucking tried that with me when I started to lease on with them.

When they finally told me about the camera they were going to install in my truck I laughed and never looked back.

I just resigned as a contract carrier (owner op) not Lease to see if I can find a load here or there since I’m slow. Back around 2010, hauled plenty of military loads. I’m not looking for permanent work from them, just a “bone” here and there. Also way different to get set up compared to before. So what haven’t they told me ? I’ll be hauling under my authority. Cameras?

I totally agree with Concorde. When you signed your lease there probably was no mention of truck cameras. It's your truck so I would tell them no way and hit the road. It's your call but why subject yourself to being spied on when they decide to change the rules, insurance company regulations or not.

Like I said. The forward facing camera never bothered me . But then just summarily turning on driver facing camera and requiring contractors to pay for it is the final insult in my opinion.

    Not all...

Schneider has taken a firm stance against driver facing cameras, even for company drivers. They use forward and side mount cameras, especially with the mirror eye system.

MERCER is garbage… They are nowhere near what they used to be. They are relegated to basically a garbage carrier who only looks at screwing as many people over as they can. They’re already proven to be a bunch of crooks

Umm these cameras are forward facing only. You all shouldn't listen to ppl that don't even work with Mercer.
