On the front axle on the spread don't groove them as deep as you can, get enough to keep you legal, go to deep and they will chunk outbox the front spread axle

Absolutely true. I've seen him stick his neck out to keep a guy on that would of been fired by any other company. A roll over for example. Any other company, it's game over. Here, Len will look at you as a whole package, not one isolated screw up. truth we all screw up, maybe not to the extent of rolling a truck over, but we've all done something that could of caused an accident if the dice rolled just right. He is the only safety guy I've ever talked to that accepts that things happen and we can't be perfect all the time. Every other one comes up with a list of things that you could of done differently to avoid the incident.

If you ever have a sit down with him, the best thing you can do is call him, don't make him track you down. Own your mistakes and don't make excuses. And present a plan of action to keep similar things from happening again.

Next time you are going by stop and talk to people. Start with Lisa at the front desk of the main building. If you got to know the people in Louisville, it might explain why some of us are so happy here. And quick to defend them.

Yeah. I only met a recruiter, dean from orientation, and Gerald downstairs helped me last year getting my phone up to speed.

Don't feel bad. I haven't been to Louisville since I left after orientation. It was over Xmas so many were not even there. But everyone that was treated me soooooo well and I've stayed in contact with several of them. I've been trying to get back there for months but loads never seem to pop up to there. Or I guess there is always a better paying load at the same time. LOL. But I'll be forced to visit soon and I can't wait. I love free food. ;)

It's really a live it or hate it thing. I absolutely love it here, the best decision I ever made on trucking. But I constantly bump into people that say they was going broke here. I suppose it just comes down to what kind of person you are.

I couldn't agree more!!! I always run into people who are struggling. If they are pulling a van I always ask as many questions as possible to hopefully find what is hurting them & try my best to give them good advice. 9 times out of 10, they just don't want to hear it. It's unfortunate they are digging their own grave. You can lead a horse to water....can't make that horse drink! Most flatbed drivers I talk to are doing fine.....the ones that give me the time of day anyways, haha. Im not exactly the most approachable looking person in the world.

The drivers that want to succeed here do just that! It's a mindset you have to have. Just like you said @spyder7723 coming to Mercer is the best decision I have ever made. Even pulling a van!!!!

Think you nailed it. Altho I've only ran into a few that were not completely happy here. One pulled a double drop, loved the company but was having a hard time with getting freight. Understandable, we don't have a lot so probably not the best fit. One flat guy that just seemed like a jerk that thought everything should be handed to him. I didn't talk to him long. And two van guys. One I sat with for about an hour. Showed him how I work the board and we exchanged #s. He is loving it now. The other was letting his coordinator run the truck for him. He had no interest in finding loads. Don't know if he has found his niche yet or not. I hope so. And we all know I love it here. LOL
