Don't switch to flatbed during the winter? Say what? Jk jk jk. That would be the common advise given on this thread. I personally don't think that it is a big deal. I came over and started pulling flat during the winter and did fine. But I know most say it's a bad idea and I can't really argue with them.

As for numbers everyone has different ones. Right now (I run my numbers a little odd for most) it cost me $33.24 a day for the month of Oct. Nov will be $34.35 a day. That's truck ins. Trailer payment and insurance, occupational accident ins. I have the lowest deductibles I could get and went pretty high on the OCC/ACC ins which isn't required. Starting out you can figure $1200-1500 paid back over 90 days (? I think) for flatbed equip if you only put up 50%. And IFTA/tags which adds about $9 a day too. But like I said most of us have different numbers. The only constant is $20 bobtail ins. Lol

But now you also got to consider i got five kids, all born on Saturday, I have never missed a days work , I come for[m practical folks, to a fault , we plan funerals around work schedules

Oh, yeah, it's just something you have to get used to. It's a little different than what I had before, but honestly, I like this system better than the Qualcomm (Read: I still have days I miss my paper, but this isn't too bad). My coordinator has asked me how I never have issues or run out of hours. I just laugh and tell him every system can be manipulated, you just have to learn the system and how to make it work for you. He tells me he is going to start forwarding all the people with problems calls to me.

Drive as fast as safely possible or park it and buy a plane ticket. I recommend the latter so you aren't distracted while driving

Razor, this guy was saying he has problems with it taking him out of sleeper and going to off duty, I told him to just log it off duty then, but he think he going to jail for that, Lola. Then goes on how mercer folks lie to him about the problem etc. Mm killer told him it was the phone he was trying to use, but he refuses to entertain that thought. He prefers to make Facebook posts about how folks in the office are liars. Then when he gets told that's rude, he gets ticked. That's the problems, the guys I have encountered with the slogs have no complaints of that nature.

And to add to that, getting on a mercer Facebook page and calling everyone liars isn't going to get you. Very much help, just food for thought. In five years, I have not had a problem, I can't understand have some folks have this long list of problems. I wonder if it could be them causing the problem

It does have that problem but it's an easy work around. Not sure what Mercer lied to him about but I doubt it was that problem. They admit it freely to me and J.J. Keller tells me they are fixing it. And if he is worried about it he could just fix his logs in the AM. Sounds like he just likes to complain to me. But what do I know?

Mercer you need to get your own bobtail ins? Who do you use? Ooida said I needed 4 years of driving for bobtail. I have 2.5.
