Quality trucks yes BUT for guys that already have trucks through quality who did their 90 days with whatever company they were at seem to get the green light to come over if they qualify I'm assuming. Hence the reason for the mentor program. They come over clueless. Yes mercer has a learning curve but you must first know how to run your business. Me and another mercer guy that I ate dinner with talked with a guy in Louisville who had no clue what his cost per mile was. We kinda walked him through it for about 30 min. The other guy been with mercer for 13 years so he could do this with his eyes closed. My point is just like spyder says all the time this is big boy trucking. Another quality guy was letting his coordinator run his truck and we told him " man that person has over 20 trucks and you think they're gonna keep up with yours better than you.?

I wasn't sure how many each has but to solely book me on loads is suicide

Lease purchase programs have ruined a lot of good trucking companies over the years. I couldn't believe Mercer got involved in that.

I wanna get some more edge protection 2moro while in Louisville. Should I just get the small black ones or the bigger ones to mix em up?

$1.98 for fuel in New Jersey. Think we'll top off. That 25% I give up isn't so bad with 45.5 cents off the pump price per gallon. Along with 1.95 per mile coming outta jersey.

I gotta say, I've had my differences with Mercer, nothing bad, just differences. That said, I got down here to nashville yesterday evening, I delivered today, then load tomorrow. While here i have heard absolute horror stories from a few landstar drivers, the ta looks like a landstar terminal. Now I'm not talking stories from the rubber duck or billy bob super trucker either, these are from guys that are old hands, educated, clearly know how to run a business and they say guys are going broke or heading for the exits ASAP. I only say this because things may be somewhat slow here, but I'm thankful I made the decision to come here and to stay here because I genuinely felt awful to see these guys sitting for days, and looking at their load board was enough to get sick to your stomach.

Joseph, the biggest difference between us and them is the first empty first offered, and that the lead had to be offered to Mercer guys before being brokered out. That gives us an advantage that landstar guys don't have in their network. Over there, you better be very good buddies with a few very big agents or you will just sit. Imo their agents got way too much control over their loads.
