Thanks brother. I do appreciate the advice. I don't know what I'm gonna do yet but I will definitely think about what you said. The 5k/wk is just what I been figuring between talking to drivers and brokers in the area and taking into account all the BS in the industry and "I caught a fish this big" mentality that seems to be everywhere. I could start tomorrow and survive on making $2500/wk but like I said I love money

I will 2nd that, this is the best I have ever done without leaving the country. I typically do pretty well, but this holiday freight is absolutely ridiculous! Much better than last year!

So, you can only scale 66,000 pounds?

    20+34+12=66

@Truckin_Texas91411 well Turkey day had its price. Just hit a multi round robin @ near $3.5 for maybe 3k+ miles. Guess I'll have turkey this weekend.

In theory yes. In reality a LOT less. Hard to get that much on the drives with so little on the trailer.

    roshea and 77fib77 Thank this.

NVM. It ended up being VERY mis represented. I had to pull myself off. Guess I'm home for Thanksgiving after all :)

Although I pull a flat now, if there is van freight for 3.5 a mile here for more than a short haul, meaning if there is 3.5 a mile van freight going over let's say 300 miles I would challenge that in a friendly way.

I'm not your big Kool-aid sipper but here's what happen today. Got to the shipper this morning to pick my load up which was 3 stops 900 miles. Well of course after I get everything strapped and chained I get a call from the agent saying the last stop order cancelled and they gotta take it off. Which mind you its on the front. Also it puts my reload on Friday that's heading home a extra 67 miles into my already long deadhead. So the per mile rate stayed the same but rev was cut $500. So after a 6 hour ordeal and and me telling the agent that this puts adds to my deadhead she asked me how much would I wanna be compensated so I threw a number out and she said "let me get back with you". I was gonna take the load anyways because it connecting me to my load home but figure I'd try to get something out of em. She calls me back and tells me she got me $50 over the rate I told her I wanted. I thought that was pretty cool of her to do that. She could've kept it and gave me what I asked for and I would've never known. Thought I'd share
