How right you are. And I know for me it can get frustrating. Only a handful of drivers are on here, of that most of us are successful. I know a big key for me was reading all of this exact thread before I asked a stupid question. Oh and the why do some fail thread. Tons of hidden and not so hidden keys to success given by you and many others.

@CJndaTruck, or anyone else, question. Do you know somewhere in the LA area that will allow me to store the truck for a week? It looks like I probably won't get the load I want home, so I figure park the truck and fly. Maybe rates will still be up when I get back and that will hold my spot.

As much as I hate to leave a truck at a truck stop. You might want to consider one of the ta's out there. If you pay for reserved parking it would limit theft potential simply cause no their well think you paid for a spot and left the truck? And set your apu to cycle on every once in a while. Basically make it look like you are in the truck.

Not a great option, but might work if you can't find any where else secure.

Yeah, I was thinking about it. Like you, I'd hate to leave it there, but if I do fly home, it's cheaper out of Ontario, so that's an option. If I do end up flying, I was going to check with kw in fontana. I know some kw dealerships have storage options.

A dealership is an excellent idea. In all the years I've been doing this I've never thought of that.

Yeah, ummm, my truck actually runs pretty good, not sure I want to tempt the trucking gods and let someone "fix" it.

A lot of emissions problem are from idle time. Lack of maintenance too. If I had a emissions truck I would take the doser injector out every 100,000 miles and clean it. Get dpf filters baked every 300,000 miles.

Three sisters in Fontana will let you. It's not exactly my 1st choice. But $10/day if I remember correctly. I have left my trailer there when I pulled PO loads out of Long Beach. Another thing you could check is call ATO & see if they have any options, they are right next to TA, pretty nice ladies there. They might have another option for you. I do know for a fact that three sisters will do it, it's just not the best, but they have "half ### security" good luck!
