It's kinda hard to get Mercer trucks to go to south Florida anyway, so you guys probably have a different set of rules for running local. I've run a few local runs in Florida over the years, but there ain't enough truck stops in south Florida, makes it kinda rough. they can pay well.

Kinda like the western states, Florida is unique when it comes to local

When I was there, the last inspection I had done he looked under my truck, (W9) and said I can't pass you until you get some mufflers on it.

I had those stainless glass pack ones under the heat sheilds, they were enough to pass.

Oscar your info is more up to date than mine. How fast things change, I'm not surprised.
If the DOT has ever written a Mercer truck up for something,

Then Mercer inspectors will be checking for it also. Colorado will write a truck up for no muffler.

Well I think the boards got a pretty good explanation there. I already stated that I grabbed a load out of the house before turkey day cause I'm a greedy SOB. Well now I have one of a million good loads to the NE. Now I just need to get to GA to nab my new truck. I think I'll come back out west after I do.

I got the same truck and I'm getting ready to paint it and get rid of these ugly looking stacks that's on here now and I'm just looking to see if I need a muffler with 8 inch stacks. But if I could get ticketed for not having a muffler then I need to find out which one would go perfect with a 3406E. Guess I got some researching to do.

sorry haven't checked in for awhile. No, have never heard of the elog unit causing a code to be thrown, I don't think it could happen directly. If the unit is working I don't think it could interfere at all. Perhaps if it had a dead short it just might be possible. Is this something that happened to you or that someone else told you about? I have multiple items connected to the data port connection all running at the same time and never had any interference from them.

I'm curious to know more about this. I can contact someone at Keller if I have more info.

Roshea, you say you have multiple items connected to the ecm port. Have you found someone that makes a Y adapter?

I made my own for my needs, I have four ports to connect to. If you get the Keller unit it should come with one in the box. They do need to know if you have a 5 or 9 pin connector.

Probably a short. Eld shouldn't throw codes as it's a read only program. I have heard sometimes it messes up gauges. But that it was a ground wire loose.
