I think the best thing you could do is be honest with yourself. You said you used to be an owner operator so you know what to expect, the big question you need to figure out is what went wrong then, and what have you done to keep from repeating the same mistakes.

I decided to pull up in Frazier Park and of course I have a cracked taillight on the trailer. It got some water in it, shorted out, and I didn't realize Great Dane doesn't use the standard taillight so my spares are the wrong ones. No one here sells the right one, but I got a local car shop to call Autozone to try to get one brought with their normal afternoon order. Neither the shop, nor Autozone, grasped the concept of reading the part number off the lens, so we'll see if they bring the right one...I'm doubting it.

Don't feel bad about your opinion, I was going to state something similar, but I was trying to think of a polite way to put it.

@earlybird1104 , no one wants to see anyone fail and people here are definitely more than willing to help when you need it. Keep asking questions and just be open to listening and learning.

Razor, the tail lights are standard 4 inch led sealed beams. they just look like they are riveted in but that stainless peeve with the rivets is no different than the old rubber grommets, just makes it harder to get the old one out. However, they use a slightly different plug than what most do. You can either splice a new plug in, or get an adapter wiring harness.

Edit to add: any truck parts store should have the adapter plug.

Yeah, I popped it out, just sitting in an area without a truck parts place. The FJ doesn't have the light, didn't even think to look for an adapter, but I assume they don't have one. If the light Autozone sends is the wrong one, I'll look inside and see if they have an adapter. If not, I'll just put the bad light back in until I can get one.

As expected, Autozone sent the standard light. Great little shop though, they opened it up, looked at it, put it back in the package, and said "nope, we'll send it back in the morning, sorry we couldn't help." FJ has the contact piece, but I really don't want to splice into the wiring if I don't have to. I'm just gonna put the bad light back in and replace it monday when I can get by a real parts store.
