    No, it was one of the local furniture companies that had their own fleet. The guy over the trucking dept was experimenting with this combo to try to get the fuel mileage up, and the many speeding tickets down their drivers had been getting for 80+ mph.

    It's impossible for them to want all trucks to do 55mph on a major hwy everybody load would be late.bad enough California still at 55 if they pass some crap like that it's going to be some p$ss off fokes

    Either way it will be challenged through the courts before any implementation. The big issue is who pays, the limiter they discuss is a device not just like now where trucks can be governed through the ecm. It will be challenged through commerce clauses saying the cost will be prohibitive burden to put on companies or individuals, and the manufacturers will do a variance that it is prohibitive for them to absorb the cost at the production level. Litigation for years.

    @stranger I remember that national 55mph speed limit. I drove for a local company (only for a short time) that had us governed at 61mph.

    They must really want trucks off the road companies now begging for drivers do to shortage.

    No, it was a company that made and transported their own new furniture. Where I live there were at one time lots of companies that did that.
    I started driving in 1975, the 55 mph speed limit came in 1974 and lasted until 1988.
