How bad are conveyors? Bad on tarps right?

This is such good advice . Luckily there are some decent people on here willing to offer this type of no nonsense opinion in order to help somebody out. Not 1 person has advised that what this young man is about to do is a good idea. However, he is going to do it anyway. In a rush to lease a truck and trailer in the middle of the winter to do flatbed work with an unfamiliar company in an industry with declining rates. Earlybird, you should take a step back and listen to what these Mercer guys are trying to tell you.

Depends on where it's from. I picked up what I thought was conveyors to be tarped on only thing needing tarped was some little boxes which I threw my smoke tarp over with some straps. I had conveyors still but shipper said it wasn't what they wanted tarped.

1: van is MUCH harder to make a profit at. Especially at a flat bed company.
2: yes you've owned a truck before. Obviously that didn't go well or you would still own a truck.
3: I really do hope you succeed, I just think it's going to be very very difficult.
4: I meant what it said earlier, I hope you become the 2nd successful quality guy I know of.
5: in this thread there is a guy by the name of Texas trucking dude, or something like that. He is the only one I know on the van side that is doing well. Buy him dinner and pick his brain to find out what he is doing that you can emulate.
6: vans suck, get a flat. Do more than slam the doors shut. (Couldn't resist)
