If I'm in a terrible area an I know it's either sit a few days or grab a cheap load I will take a 1.50 load IF I know there's a 2.50+\- load waiting for me once I deliver.
The 1.50 loads aren't suicide you just have to know when to use them to get you back ahead of the 8ball

Side note. A cell phone does not do well when it bounced of the roof of your pick up pulling out of the grocery store parking lot. Managed to save my contacts and download pictures and videos to my laptop but with a non functioning screen i had to upgrade to this note 5. I hate new stuff. Took me four years to get used to that s3. Probably gonna take twice as long to get used to this one. And can't figure out how to retrieve any of the hundred plus bookmarks i had.

Whats going on over here in NJ??? Freight is DEAD. Im being offered a load going to WA but he rate i don't see it worth it.. Its take it or sit hmmm.

These are the guys that don't know how to run a business and are used to getting paid for every mile, empty or loaded. (Ok, so we qualify on the MT/LD bit), BUT I do know how to do simple math to see if something pays enough to get the hell out of Dodge. And we don't sit unless we have to. Got a load now that pays OK. Has a bit too much time on it, rolls thru the house and gets us to a better area. Thru the house = I can give hubby his new tablet and hotspot.

 

Best solution for trying to get a load to get the hell out of dodge. Learn the markets so you know what rate you have to get to go into dodge and be able to come out profitably. Look at loads as round trips or triangles.

 

Haha. I do have friends in the industry. I suppose everyone that grew up there knows someone. Nowadays they might be more interested in a show about our spouses.
