Nope, that was the factory recommended oil change interval for that motor running long Hual. I just followed the book, after I came here I must admit I started changing oil every 35k as I really wasn't long Hual anymore.

That's what Detroit recommends for line haul service. Severe duty is 35,000 miles.

    77fib77 Thanks this.

I change mine at around 18k on an isx 870. I'm terrified that it might fail. It burns a gallon every 15 or 16 k.

On a different tangent. I think it's weird that EBT can be used to buy fast food at a Huck's Pilot.

Mine (DD16) burned a gallon the first 18,000 miles. Hasn't burned a drop since, now has 42,000 on it. I change the oil between 15,000-20,000.

    77fib77 and CJndaTruck Thank this.

My ISX burned a gallon in the first 5k or so. I'm now at 106k and I might have added a gallon since then in small increments just to keep it topped off. I change my oil at 24k

    77fib77 Thanks this.

Does Mercer have a decent amount of freight to and from Phoenix or nearby places like Tucson? I was thinking of maybe moving to Phoenix AZ.
