@CJndaTruck I still haven't heard a thing, but after doing a little troubleshooting online, I think it may need to be converted for cb use. Apparently they don't come ready to use.

I decided to put my 29 back in for now, maybe while I'm killing time on my way to Texas I can get someone to look at it and adjust it, maybe boost it a little more too while they have it opened up.

 

im still here. Too lazy to go back to work.

Man that kinda sucks. I don't know enough about them but I would be upset if it wasn't ready to go out of the box. I would think any shop would be able to help you out????

 

Only about ten days of actual on the road driving with it cause I've been home since the Friday before easter. It really wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. But is an adjustment. Headed back out today so we will see.

One word of advice, if you start following the letter of the law now, it will be an easier adjustment when the time comes.

 

It's good now, took to the guy in Whytheville. He converted it and peaked it for $40, so all together, it's still a good deal.

 

If my check engine light doesn't come on when I key the ignition switch, is that a failure at Mercer inspection?

 

No.

The bulb is probably bad. Good news, its about 2 dollars. Bad news, will take half a day to get the dash apart to change it.
