Yeah, I mean, I've been trying to get him to read this thread and the other one, but you can lead a horse to water, you can't make him drink. He has more or less been using his coordinator, and he apparently now has a new one, his old one quit. Couple that with he had no idea how to use the load board, he was basically just accepting whatever crap load they called him about. I had him get on the load board and we looked at the same criteria and I told him how I go about picking my loads and all the different factors you really need to look at. He looked at a few loads and asked me about them and I basically explained to him why I wouldn't go for the loads he was looking at. On the surface they looked good, but once you take into account everything they were really just trap loads going to dead areas for not enough money for me to be willing to do it. Anyway, we spent about 4 hours on the phone/computer talking and working on it. I think he gets it, but honestly, his heart isn't in it anyway. He has been looking at getting out of trucking all together in order to go to motorcycle mechanic school, then he got this piece of news. Like I said, he has virtually no bills, so it doesn't matter to him really.

Never heard of this 40 percent jazz. They haven't a problem taking more than 40 from me. In fact they will take an entire settlement if ya owe money, or is this a quality thing? Some have been told they are behind when they aren't, one even had it reposed when they weren't behind. If his heart isn't in it you are wasting your time, how can ya be here since August and not have a clue? Let me take that back, some have been here longer and don't have a c lue

40% is the max you can have put in your reserve acct.

I hope soon. This has gotten boring without it.

No no no. $12k for ALL of his expenses...truck payment, insurance, trailer payments, etc. And that was just a rough figure, I haven't seen all of his settlements.

Is there a max for the reserve? I was unaware of that. The 40% I was referring to is the max Mercer will take from your settlement. I doubt it's just a Quality thing, that wouldn't make much sense, but I don't know. I've had them take a full settlement, but only when it was for just a few dollars anyway. Then again, they normally only take about 15-20% of mine to cover my fixed costs. But back to the question, I was just throwing numbers out, they weren't exactly where he is at, but close. He got behind somewhere and hasn't caught up. He claimed he wasn't behind and no one told him and that he heard about people getting their trucks repo'd because Mercer was messing them over... until we went through a couple settlements and 2 weeks ago they had just finished paying January and started on February. All I know is, the settlement is very clear, if your payment is behind, as a business person you should know that. You shouldn't need someone to tell you to read your financial statements. Regardless, he isn't hurting for money, he has made plenty, just didn't realize that he was behind on his truck payment.

You also stated you take your max upfront....that doesn't leave much room over 40%.

If I take 50 per cent, that leaves 50, if they take it all , they took 50.

I think you missed the point, it wasnt mercer messing them over, quality had not credited the payment. But this is the inherent problem with this leasing adventure. Its people who don't have a clue. Who can't be bothered to even see if a payment has been made. If he has plenty of money, write a check and get current. Razor. Is a guy hasn't got his heart in it, since August doesn't know how to look at loadboard, he more than likely isn't going to grow a brain. But I thought this was whatvthe mentor program was, or are they simply Facebook police?
