This was posted on the loadboard blog. Exact numbers and even how many got exempted that didn't have hookups , it was actually a handful, , it want anywhere nerve even a hundred. But you can run but you can't hide from De. 2017

LoL. You got me, those loads were a fluke & mercer is the best thing going & probably was a handful that quit because that's what management said, oh & the eld thing was a small part why I left & how do you know that I'm not exempt. Do you know any thing about what happened to Fikes? In the chance the mandate is struck down there will be a mass exodus from mercer.

I thought this thread was like 1400 pages long. What happened to them? I'm only showing 895 or so.

Fikes came out a few years ago and announced they were going to ELDs, I forgot the % of trucks that left them but it put them in a bind, so to make up for it the owner decided to buy trucks to make up- that didn't work either & it broke them. They also said they started worrying more about money & forgot about their people- which sounds like Louisville. I believe they were around for 75 years when this happened.

Oscar the KW and RStewart Thank this.

They went out of business. A division of P&S Transportation took over their operation. They lost a bunch of O/O when they went to elogs & they tried to make up the difference with company trucks. From what I understand they grew to much to fast & ran out of money.

Files went out of business. They had a lot of ops leave at 8ne time because they did an immediate ,all at one time transition to old. But in reality that only one piece of the puzzle. Quite a bit different than the long phase in time at mercer, basically what landstar is doing.

Man, you're making this difficult. I just was looking for a simple MD allows 9'11" and less to run 24/7 or night travel is only allowed with an escort or something like that. I will be running from Indy to DC (Bethesda), 68-70-270 basically.
