    This is from landline magazine:

Then around 2010, he said the Fikes safety team turned its sights on its CSA score, and pushed satellite tracking systems and electronic logs – a move that proved detrimental to the 74-year-old truck line.

“Besides the recession, when we announced we were going to start using satellites in our trucks and were going to transition over to e-logs, it seems like we lost 40 percent of our fleet in a blink of an eye,” he said. “I don’t think we were prepared for that reaction from our 25- and 30-year owner-operators who made it clear they weren’t going to run e-logs. We went from having about 550 owner-operators to about 300 trucks and we never really recovered from that

There are several good paying loads up there, it's just a matter of where you end up afterwards.

Like I said, blind hog finds a acorn every now then. I delivered in south Portland Maine late Tuesday afternoon, running on recap, number 5 on board, decided to take restart, at 959 Thursday morning wife calls about theload, she saw it on load board, I was at #1 by then, snagged it, actually loaded at 7pm Thursday night, drove to willigton, ct. and rolled out Friday morning. Loaded back to Dover, NH now. Its all about the decisions made according to board position. I consistently load for decent rate when I go to Boston area. Do i expect that this week? No, but I will see my board position and start plotting the plan.

And that there is what we mean by learning to work the system in your favor. Last time i left florida it was for 2.12 a mile on over 1500 miles. Under 10k lbs and no tarp. Due in part to 5 years experience working the board and part dumb luck, right place right time kind of thing. Certain customers pay very very good at the end of the month and end of the quarter to get product off the property.

Yep, that's it. Just a bit of patience. What I do at#5 is different than #25. I knew after doing a reset, I would be 1 or 2
