A lot depends on how many days you stay home for a guy who wants out OK fast you grab what's available I live about 1 1/2 hr from fort smith in AR when I go home I tell my Cordinator to call me on any loads over 2.20 a mile so if something good comes up I'm frist on the list

Don't know what your rates were on hazmat but I pickup no tarp loads from the house anywhere from 1.86 to 2.60 a mile depending on destination

I usually go home for 3 days, sometimes 4. I try to go home every other weekend but there are times that I stay out longer. Unless I have a specific reason to get home then I let the freight dictate when I go home. I bounce around the Midwest & if I happen to see a good paying load going towards the house & I've been out for a bit then I usually grab it & go to the house. If I'm wanting to make the money & freight is going good then I won't even look at a load going towards the house.

I do now & will at Mercer try to have myself booked leaving before I get home.

Those rates are way better than I get leaving regardless of hazmat or not. I usually get good enough rates the rest of the week to make up for the crap leaving home but it would be nice to get higher rates leaving so my avg rate per mile is higher.

Yeah, you should be able to get 1.80+ loads coming out of Norman if you're willing to go to the northeast, and obviously they're light

OK is not the best for getting high paying freight 4 to 5 days out not that it doesn't happen and you should allways keep an eye out

Compared to what i gotta deal with in Florida, Norman is a freaking wet dream. Several loads a day, every day.

@CJndaTruck, where ya at? Going golfing tomorrow in Le Mars, IA. After this load though, it's time for me to go home. I've been out about a month, and that's about 3 weeks overdue lol.
