Is that to the truck or gross?

 

Im considering mercer but wondering if the money is there with a $1000 a month truck payment and all the deductions that will come out like tags and equipment and such.

 

Everything you hear about money from drivers & recruiters is to the truck.

 

$1000 a month payment? There are guys there with payments more than double that. You should be able to make money almost anywhere on a percentage plan with that low of a payment. Mine is quite a bit more than that & I make money pulling a van for a mega.

 

I havent owned my own truck in bout 20 years. I currently gross 56,000 yearly for a local 50 hour week but im sick of working for an ***hole. Im ready to do my own thing but just scared all the deductions might eat my lunch starting out and also i pick the worst time of year to consider being O/O again.

 

Im not looking to live in the truck monday-friday every week either.

 

Depending on where you live & how much you need to pay for home bills that could be tough to be home that often.

 

If I could gross 3500-4000 a week to the truck I think I could do fairly well. As long as It doesnt take 4000 miles to earn it.

 

I live in Florida and do pretty good. But I'm willing to do what it takes to make money. Some days that means tarping. Other days it means staying gone for 2 weeks. Ya gotta be flexible in trucking.

 

Are you still planning on bringing a truck over here?
