I think there one prick left, but I'm fairly certain his days are numbered.
Some days this job is just amazingly cool. I go to make my delivery and the Marines at this navy ship have no way too unload the 2 humvees. It's 6 pm and can't get ahold of anyone to authorize them to use a dock somewhere else on base. They ask me to stay till morning. On base. 150 feet from the docked ships. With navy police armed with machine guns providing security. I'm gonna get 16 hours of detention time to watch net flix and sleep while our countries finest men and women keep me safe. How cool is that?bigred81, roshea, BloatedDog and 8 others Thank this. -
That's great

It was only 300 miles. But weight was only 2k and it got me out of TX (although I'm heading right back for some time off). But after my light weekend load my week is done.RStewart Thanks this.

I would take that rate out of there if it weighed 45k. LOL I'll be headed to Texas on Wed. Then a load to Oklahoma to go to the house for the weekend.

I forgot to add, the ssg asked if i had ate yet and when i said no but i got some food in the truck he said screw that, i got a van here. Enterprise is charging the tax payers 4400 for the month, jump in let's go get some chow.
So the next time someone asks if pulling a flat or step is worth it over just closing doors on a reefer, ask them how many times their customers have been concerned that they got a hot dinner when there was a delay unloading.roshea, Home_on_wheels, CJndaTruck and 2 others Thank this. -
Perks of the job. Oh, since I'm a taxpayer, you're welcome. Lol.Razorwyr and spyder7723 Thank this.
-
You said Marine right? That's SSGT, not SSG...Rahspyder7723 and RStewart Thank this.

Seriously though, I agree, I pulled a reefer for 5 years before here. It was rare to get a customer without an attitude then. Here, it's rare to get one with an attitude. I've had a customer in ME offer to leave me his brand new F350 in case I wanted to get out of the truck. I turned him down, but he was dead serious.
RStewart and CJndaTruck Thank this.
