It's not a truck friendly area as far as amenities & such. No surprise to me there's no freight for a stoga.Mudguppy Thanks this.

Spokane is horrible. You are going from one bad market to another. This is what happens when coordinators find freight, they see the total TTT and not really the PPM.
Coordinators here do not know how to run a conestoga. We are to few and most don't know what to do with you. I had to teach mine what it takes. You always have to call and make sure a shipper will load a CON. Many won't and/or don't even know what one is. You have to call and educate both shippers and agents. This can be time consuming to start. But I have a buck that says you are the only conestoga in your coordinators fleet. And he probably isn't even sure what one looks like.
This is a FB company. That has been said a million times. Steps are already at a slight disadvantage. I do know an account that LOVES step conastogas but you will never see MI on it. And it doesn't pay enough for my liking. But several step CON run it on a basically dedicated run out of SoCal.
I strongly suggest you get on the phone and see what agents can get freight for you and which ones simply can't. I do wish you the best of luck with Spokane but expect to bounce 200+ miles and hual rather cheap out of there. I'm sure there are 10 other steps in WA waiting to grab a container out of the port.RStewart Thanks this. -
That is great advice CJ, hopefully he uses it.
That's one thing that makes this a great place. Ask for help & you receive it. Heck, I've been given lots of help & I haven't even made the switch to Mercer yet.CJndaTruck Thanks this. -
There is lots of help to be found here. The problem is most guys aren't willing to recieve it. They want things to be a certain way for them, instead of being willing to work with the way things are.
There is plenty of good paying freight to be had here, or at least add much add there at any carrier in these tough times. But it doesn't fall in your lap. You have to seek it out.CJndaTruck and RStewart Thank this.
