What kind of heater are you looking to get?I think I'm gonna need one, I refuse to idle but I'm no Eskimo lol

 

Hey Pete don't you have a bunk heater that came with the APU? Why not just swap the thermostat for that thing and use it.

 

I'm gonna attempt that but what I've been told is it runs off the computer bored inside the engine apu. but that's gonna be my first try as it has a new AC compressor that cost $1200 plus labor

 

Well I'm running ups. I bring a trailer upto Chicago and they don't have one to leave with. I have been here for 3 + hours waiting. I want a Chicago style hot dog, but don't where to get one with a trailer.

Well my last few APUs (this new tri-PAC evolution included) came with a diesel burning wabasco type bunk heater. Now it's wired into my APU controls. But if my APU was acting up it seems like it would be easy to rewire that to make it independent of the APU. Of course I don't recall exactly what's up with the APU. But those bunk heaters work better then any system your going to rig up.

 

I thought they just bobtailed you back when they didn't have trailers? Obviously I'm wrong lol, I've never done UPS here but it seems I recall something like that from the last two seasons.

 

I used to be a package handler there. Anyhow don't know about that general area but if your heading back east one of the last exits on 80/294 before crossing into Indiana is Halsted Street. Take that south at the first light is a Portillos on the west side of the street along with a Super Walmart you can park at.

 

My apu has a built in electric heat. worked great last winter lol.
