A trailer lift I get. Not sure the benefits out weigh the initial cost but hey go for it. It should make for good reading. LOL

Lift axles are cheap anymore. About 1k for them. Maybe I'll hold off to see what fuel prices are gonna do.

No place for me to go inside. It's rock doors lol. I'm waiting for it to slow down it's pouring buckets here. This iron is already rusted so I don't think it matters if it gets wet.

    Highway Sailor Thanks this.

Well, I'm empty, rain let up just enough for me to get unloaded without getting wet this morning. Headed to the house now, enjoy your Independence Day everyone.

Its actually even more of an improvement than the trailer axle. You gain the rolling resistance advantage of not having those 4 wheels on the ground plus gain the advantaged of not having the gears inside draining energy. Ity takes energy to turn those gears, even when not under load they are still draining energy. But not nearly as cheap. It's quite a bit more involved than what pete is describing.

You cant just put a lift kit in like you would on a trailer. You have to replace the entire axle housings and everything inside. And possibly the suspension components for the new drive axle.
