I lived out on Whidbey Island. I loved it, helped that I knew when the good loads were popping up so I got great loads straight from the house.

Speaking of which @Razorwyr did you find my parking spot? Where did/are you stopping for the night? I moved my truck Monday night as I was heading north yesterday and didn't want to come back to the island. Anyway, if I can catch up to you tonight ill buy dinner.

I didn't make it out there, Seattle traffic killed my clock and I stopped at Donnas. Rolled out there this morning and it was after 3 before I got off base, so I'm back at Donnas for the night. You're probably way ahead of me. Me and the other flat on this load are gonna try to time the morning traffic to dodge rush hour in Seattle and portland since we have to be in san Diego Saturday, gonna run long days to get there, then if I get a bug up my ads, I might play Torrey Pines on Sunday or Monday.

Oh yeah, sounds about right. Getting loaded there for North Island always takes awhile. Loads from the warehouse are fast. Having lived 3 miles out the gate I could get there without starting my clock.

@RStewart I'm on my phone so I can't see your avatar that great... I'm guessing that's you standing by your favorite college football teams truck? Right?

That was my plan, but since I dh out of Portland, I grabbed a short 10 mile run almost completely in route, so it was like a free $200 to me. It cost me about 2 hours total, putting me leaving Puyallup at about 2, and Seattle traffic killed me. My 14 was only good until 430, i started in Stanfield early.

Sounds like a CBD load. Those can always change, sometimes in your favor. I can often get a better rate (like today's load) because the customer really wants a conestoga as that's what their fleet is. And is willing to pay up for one. But they are using Mercer for overflow and don't expect Mercer to have conestogas. When the agent calls and says "I have a conestoga" the ratescan go up and sometimes the customer will cancel the load with another carrier just to use me.

I've been up and down 75 through Ohio the past couple days, talk about a backup at the river in Cincy... Even trying to make it up so I can catch 275 was hell... signs posted also that trucks aren't allow on 71 from Cincy must detour 275... Wonder how long whatever project they are doing is going to take...
