1.5 inch angle out of 3/16ths steel will be plenty strong enough. Remember, you want triangle shaped side brackets. Not L shaped brackets.

 

That may work out well. I wouldn't want to learn how to tarp loads with frozen tarps and straps during the winter months.

True. Of course I pick my loads so those loads could be avoided. Lol. But I'd rather keep my options a little more open than that.

 

Only get paid if they dispatch the load and it cancels. If you get a package that is a different deal. But standby only pays if dispatched.

Yes, I did last year. Also, you don't get to choose day or night. Almost all loads are night running.
