Just build a couple saw horses the right height, place a 2x6 across them, put a piece of carpet or felt on the board so it doesn't scratch the paint, heck even a blanket would work. That will hold the hood up just fine.

 

I'm curious also. Everything I've read on them they should be pretty durable unless you're running them on dry pavement.
