It's wrong though, because the "orange box" is read only mode. Read only mode is just that, read only. You can submit logs that have been created, but you can't create new logs!

That was part of the discussion that was going on between people that actually use keller, before you decided to chime in tell people they were just b####ing!!

 

Yep. Our only option is to call and get put on hold for 30 minutes every couple days.

 

Just relaying what I was told when I asked .

 

I emailed my log person and asked if it was ok to email instead of calling, and they were fine with it. So I'll just email them that I'll be off duty for a couple weeks, maybe even tell them a month whenever I head home, & log back in when I'm ready to roll! I can't confirm all log people would accept a email instead of a phone call, but I know mine said it was ok, & I don't see why any other log people would say no.

 

If you guys on Keller tell them you are off for four days, and the third day get a load, can you just log on and roll.

In talking further about this, it seems the difference is in Qualcomm keeps the status updated and Keller doesn't in the same way.

If any might be considering switching, you can get QC for 550,. With QC I was able to cut off the ping on the app

 

We don't know yet because it doesn't start until the 23rd, but I'm assuming yes.

The last time we were threatened to be placed OOS was over using the Mercer Mobile App in order for our location to be tracked.

From Mercer - " This new update is so all the customers and the agents can see where you are at all times on your mobile app. If you are under a load your Mobile APP must be pinging at all times, It does not pick up QUALCOMM or Satellite. If you are not under a load or you are off then it just must pinge your location 13 hours prior to you picking up a load."

So if I comply with the MMA requirements, the obvious would be if I submitted my logs & on the last day I went off duty at my house, then it's pretty safe to say I remained there until I logged back into the MMA.

JJ Keller works just fine and it's free! I've had three DOT inspections while using it & never had a issue.

Why are you trying to push QC?

 

Yes, I like working with them at the Sioux Falls location. Tom is the salesman I always deal with.

 

The salesman will know what you need to be tax exempt. In Ohio, I only need a lease agreement from my carrier.

 

I was planning on running my own plate on it versus one from Mercer, I wonder will that hinder my tax exempt deal? Might have to run there plate???

It was just a statement that if the Keller was a bit much with the three day thing , you could switch over , as the QC does the ifta and location . And the ping on the app could be off if you wanted.

Again not pushing a thing, just threw it out there. I get a message with all the load info, nice if I don't have signal enough to open app.

No QC conspiracy,. I have just saw many complaints about Keller of connection problems, problems after updates ,. Etc etc.

The QC just doesn't have those problems, I just throw it out there as an alternative.

Yes, it does cost, but it hasn't generated the complaints that Keller has.
