I'm sure, worse case scenario, you flatbedders make enough to make both truck payments temporarily until the old truck is paid off.

That could be done. But holy smokes i don't wanna work that hard.

In that case get it fixed right. Bandaid till you can afford it, then get that engine completely redone. Isx ain't it? If so id be awfully tempted to yank it out and slap in an n14.

Yeah isx local shop that did my engine mounts said he does them for 16k depending on what's replaced. I've thought of a n14 or a 12.7 but I would think it just cost more in the long run.

I didn't figure it would be working that hard. I could do it with what I make pulling a van now & I definitely don't work hard. Lol.

Legally, can't pull his motor out & put in an older n-14. Can only put an older motor in a truck that was sold as a glider, at least from a legal standpoint.

Legally i couldn't cut the catalytic converter off my hot rods but i did. And never ever once had a police officer look. The epa has bigger fish to fry, they aren't coming to petes house and looking under his hood. The law enforcement drivers deal with don't enforce epa regs. Heck id bet most don't even know them.

I ran hot rods old enough to not need cats. Lol. I didn't say it couldn't be done. Heck there are guys pulling emissions off of new trucks & not getting caught. I was just making a statement.

Seems like getting calls from the same guy in truck ops is becoming a regular occurrence for me... Starting to think the story of him having a customer desperate to move a load and that the customer is "all in" on the rate is just a complete line of BS that I'm not falling for. I wouldnt move the desperate load that's paying $1.43 with a pickup truck certainly wouldn't do it with my Big One. Wouldn't someone desperate be paying a decent rate? Next time I'm telling him just put me on the Do not call list... If I got my preference with my coordinator set a lot higher than that rock bottom send you to bankruptcy rate, why is he calling me? They gotta be able to look at the same computer screen... It's a slap in the face . What the customer is looking for in actually is a sucker and they know they'll get it...

That's his job, he goes down the list of trucks near the load that could pick it up and calls them, even if you're not matched or refused it!

BTW does his first name start with A?
