That letter is disturbing, I was a good boy and got credit points like you. But the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.

 

I got one Tuesday for a level 1 dot inspection. When I first saw the -10 points I was freaking out. Called safety and they explained it all to me.

 

No....can't pull a trailer with walls. Then you got that whole seal deal, and doors. Sounds like too much work for me.

 

It's the part of the letter that says you were followed and observed while driving, that's disturbing. Mercer hires retired/off duty LEOS to observe you at random and report back to Mercer.

Then to make you feel better about it they give you -10 points if you were a good boy.

 

They give you +10 if you weren't. I got caught being a bad boy last year or the year before in Baltimore. I was following too close at rush hour. Oops

 

Absolutely agree. But when you start hiring everyone with a pulse you have to do so these things. Bunch of crap in my opinion. Hire quality good drivers with good track records and you won't have to try to catch them acting up.

 

But lenny needs those safty awards

 

I dont think its len. He isn't in charge of hiring. He has been put in a bad spot trying to keep a good safety record with less than stellar drivers being hired every week.

 

You are correct just a little humor

 

Len's job has gotten progressively harder over the years. That job has taken a toll on him. Years ago you could go into his office and have a very pleasant laid back conversation. The last times I talked with him, he was a different man than he was years ago. Stress takes it's toll.
