Sad but True. These guys will slip into our fleet and poison the whole system.

My complaint would be that a good, clean, well behaved, professional Mercer hand can go into Louisville and complain about something. His take away from the meeting is: That's the way it is, if you don't like it, don't let the door hit you in the ### on the way out. We will just replace you with an unknown next week.

Mercer should do more to make these professional acting guys feel more important to the operation. (there I go, slipping back into the good old days)

About 20 years ago i pulled a set of flats for a week while the regular driver was on vacation. Hated it so when my license was due for renewal i dropped the endorsement just so i wouldnt be tempted again. ;)

I pulled grain cans in the winter in the north west. Like I said after a while I quit looking in the mirrors except when had to get around someone. On 2 lane mountain roads it would It the the guard rail on occasions. Stayed to the right, I would rather that than on coming traffic.

Also good for southbound emergencies when you're running out of time.

Is there away to tighten up my Drivers door? It rattles sometimes when hitting big bumps or heavy winds. Not sure if its just a older truck thing or maybe i can tighten up the latch?

. Did that ever happen to you, mtoo? I myself haven't had it happen to me. When I have approached them with a couple of situations in my 7 years I was not made to feel that way, and I have several times in the last couple years went in to help others with problems and have been heard and resolved the issues, not always to the contractors satisfaction but it was explained well and no one quit.

I have heard many complain at truck stops, but when I offered to help , with their permission, often time it turned they actually hadn't contacted anyone about the issue.

What I have found mtoo , the people at mercer haven't changed as much as the people they deal with have.

If they have changed it's a direct result of the people they have to deal with.

I just haven't seen good contractors treated that way. You give respect , you get respect.

Any of you guys run Canada? I grabbed my passport from where I had it stored a couple days ago. More or less just in case I'm ever "in right place at right time" and a good paying northbound load pops up. I think since I've been here 1 time I've seen a load that paid really good going to Canada from a area I was in... The only south bound loads I see on the board are only ever in Ontario and Quebec... I wonder if in the winter do those loads pay better?
