I've seen a couple of really good van rates to up there, pretty much round-trip rates. But I don't think I really care to mess with the hassle. And Ontario requires your truck to governed at 100 k/h.... A bit too chilly up that way nowadays :p

    RStewart and HalpinUout Thank this.

I wonder if they are big on checking that or what's the consequences... I think I read on a thread before that as long as you do the speed limit you won't be bothered... I don't mind the cold that much... I like a change of scenery...

Some people lack common sense. Even a new flatbeder should know those sharp edges and pointy tips are going to slice right through that tarp... He doesn't appear to be the brightest pea in the pod anyhow.

I read awhile back they are going to be spot checking as you cross the border.

Hope someone tells him that they sell patch kits and if he patches both sides be all most as good as new

I sure hope he is better at securing the load than he is at tarping. Pretty much rookie mistakes. Keep at it & he'll learn & be good to go.

I did a lot of Ontario and Quebec earlier this year. I never got asked about it, but I always went in/out at Sarnia or down 15/87 out of Quebec to avoid the scales.

Avoid the popular crossings and the scales associated with them and do the speed limit and you're gold.

He has a lot to learn. Beginner mistakes. The good thing is, ruining tarps at 300-500 a pop, he will catch on pretty quick. Or stop taking tarp loads.

The problem is how many customers will he and others like him cost us because their freight got wet? Tarp a jet engine like that and none of us will ever see one again. A single small stone will turn a 10 million dollar turbine into a worthless boat anchor.

I understand that everyone has to learn somewhere but shouldn't they be learning on sticks and bricks and not turbines and othet delicate high paying cargo?
