Ya but where the straps cut doesn't touch those... the straps only touch the round sides nothing touches on the top

Going down the road straps vibrate like a guitar string. That gave enough flex and movement that they rubbed the sharp edge of the holes in the concrete poles.

I don't see how my 4 inch strap ripped,
Thing that's had me wondering all day though, where it's cut there isn't a sharp edge hole... it's cut right where the card board is.

Carb board is sharp when you vibrate a strap against it for an hour. So you understand what I'm trying to say, mercy time you have a load 6 feet or so tall, secure it normally with your half twists in the strap, but throw an extra strap with no twist. Look at it in the mirror as you are running at highway speed and you will see how much it flexes from the vibration.

So, I am about to take my winter break, taking off next week until mid February. I am parking my truck in Louisville. I am wondering if I should buy a solar trickle charger and put it in my windshield. Those things are only like 5 or 10 watts and I know they won't charge my 4 batteries but I'm thinking it might maintain it enough that she'll start ten weeks later especially if they are charged fully and everything is off. What do u guys think?

I agree with spyder, the break looks to be near the lift point I would bet it rubbed on the edge of it and broke. I would think if someone was going to cut a strap they would do more then one and most likely on the side of the trailer. That's why we should do pre/post trip inspections and load checks.
