I've done one, but it was 1500 miles, paid enough for the 3000 mile round trip, especially half of it bobtail, and they were willing to secure my trailer. I tried to get another power only load back but was unsuccessful. I did have a blowout 100 miles into it. I was a little frustrated, but had all their info to get it repaired before taking the load. Luckily it happened out in the middle of nowhere, so it took about 3 hours or so, but then no more issues. I'd gladly do that one again. But you are right, unless they are paying great, I don't see the interest either.

I kinda wished I would've inquired about the UPS runs but the freight selection has been good and paying pretty decent. I'm having to issues moving all over and getting loads that pay well. That being said I'm a glutton for punishment sometimes and a set schedule and money would be nice too. Maybe next year??

And he wasn't let go at all. He quit. He was asked to stop some things against policy. And chose to quit instead.
But he was not fired. -
If a driver needs a load re-powered as for setting the price how is that worked out? Does the driver with the load name the price they are willing to pay a driver to come get the load and Mercer puts that load/amount on the board or will Mercer call drivers near the load telling them to name the price they need to deliver the load and both drivers come to a agreed upon amount?
