Here's an old timers trick, it takes 2 people. Remove the radiator cap, take a shop vac. Have someone hold the hose over the radiator creating a vacuum. Not so much vacuum that coolant is sucked up, but a vacuum. Now you can remove thermostats, heater hoses, sensors etc. with out losing coolant or making a mess,

Takes some practice but works great.

I've never been able to get the seal tight enough. I gave up trying and just drain the coolant into a clean container then put it all back in after.

Ya. It will turn over similar to having a dead cell. Just sort of weak

What have you come up with to.hold the hood when.changing? I know it was talked about on here a while back to use saw horses. Is that what your planning on using? I would like to change mine out soon also.

Didn't read the next 10 pages to see if fixed, but here's what I have. I also only use 12' assembly.
