Yeah those long runs would suck lol.

 

Not sure why but they keep forgetting to dispatch a couple of my loads.

 

Was told yesterday that Mercer no longer has designated "Self Dispatch" teams but the guys who have been successfully operating that way for a long time are supposed to be allowed to continue. My coordinator had refused 8 loads for me that morning so I had to call and ask WTH??? She apologized profusely and I guess it will be business as usual again. I pretty much just work for a couple of agents along the same corridor so I don't need her help.

 

I got my checks in the mail yesterday also, and I retired 18 months ago. Just a little proof that when Mercer owes you money they pay it.

I've said it many times, Mercer does not play with "your" money!

 

So you can't pick your own loads anymore?

 

You can still pick your own loads but some of us work without a coordinator's assistance in finding freight and have the ability to set our own parameters for load matching which usually has to be done by a coordinator.

 

Is what your on the 30 board?

 

Oh yea I have a friend on that board.. It's not alot of drivers on it

 

Mine is the 34 board. (Vans)

 

I've never understood the reasoning on why someone would want to be on that board, even with the reasons you mentioned. I've gotten my 2 or 3 best loads when I wasn't #1 but a 34 board guy was ahead of me. Maybe he didn't want the load, but maybe he did and he didn't know about it.... I book the majority of my freight myself, but on occasion my coordinator calls me with something that's new and really good and if I'm driving I wouldn't see it. Just another tool that I'd hate to be without....
