I don't know if its the whole Elogs fiascos, End of the year/last quarter, lots of drivers off for Christmas but I seen rates today on loads that I haven't seen in the 6 months I've been here. I got myself booked up to surpass my best week in revenue by about 30%. Some great rates. Last week was good also. Could be because no one wants to tarp in cold? With this type of money rolling in I sure don't mind rolling them tarps out. :D

Not to bring up an old topic but I've been really hit and miss on this board as of late and the subject of coordinators always seems to bother different people different ways. I like you seem to have a handful of agents I work with 80% of the time. I almost never talk to my coordinator. Almost never means 3 times since Thanksgiving weekend. 1 was after Spyder had lunch with him (we have the same guy). 2 was a week and a half ago when he saw I deadheaded 500 miles grab a load heading to Cali to offer me a choice of conestoga loads loading 500 feet from my delivery back to the south. And Friday to tell me my phone hadn't pinged my position since me being in Knoxville for Turkey day.

If your coordinator is reminding you of a dispatcher get a new coordinator and train them how you want to be treated. They work for you, not the other way around.

Anyway, great couple of weeks just went by. Got paid good to bounce 500 miles to take a great paying load out west. $$$ was good but when asked my price the customer said yes way too fast so I know I left a pile of cash on the table. Oh well, still a great load. Didn't have to play the west coast shuffle and was headed back the same morning I delivered. That never happens. Took a load to AR over the weekend, got a call asking if I was avail to run to IN today. Price was right, hang up. Called an asked can I run to VA from 5 miles down the road where I drop in the AM. Numbers work. Hang up and 5 mins later get a call about running disaster relief for a week DOT exempt into FL. We all know @spyder7723 is the expert on that. I don't know if it will happen but if it does I'll be done in just enough time to get myself to the Cotton Bowl for New Years. Will make for a great year end.

Pete think long about the new to you truck, Spyder's old one might be a good deal. Otherwise, like you said be ready for a rebuild.

Hope everyone has a great holiday season. Stay safe out there.

I don't know about expert but i do ok with the relief loads. The hours can suck big time tho so just keep reminding yourself there will be plenty of time to sleep when the job is done.

Since I got here it's been like that. Great from Thanksgiving to about the 22-23. The week between Christmas and New Years can be a little slower but I've always done well if I worked. Seems the first few days of January are the slowest for everyone except the UPS guys. Then it picks back up until all the ups guys get back which is when I seem to notice a rate drop again. I don't think it's a Mercer thing, more of a market thing caused by the amount of trucks taken out of the system by UPS/FedEx during the holidays.
