Halpinuout, saw your post on another thread. Call me , I can tell you how to clear that service code.

It's just telling you that the listed service is required for the hourly level you are at.

It requires a code , I got the code.

    HalpinUout Thanks this.

Like has been said, take extra care not to break the drill bit or the extractor. If either of theses break, it's a rabbit hole you don't want to go down.

If you do drill, file that broken end flat then smack it hard in the center with with a center punch. Oil up your drill bit and keep it level and centered

Measure the depth of the holes of the ones with the studs removed. That way you won't go to deep and end up in the water jacket.

Make sure you use the correct drill bit size for the extractor size you are going to use.

Drilling all the way thru the stud works, but you have to know how deep the stud hole is. Use Kroil oil soak it over night. No comparison to diesel/atf.

Heat, then soak the stud with Kroil, or something, after it cools. Then hit the end of the stud over and over for a few minutes. Not hard enough to bend it out of shape or anything, but hard enough. Keep doing this for as many hours as it takes with 30 minute breaks in between until the stud starts to come out with vice grips. This will eventually break the rust away from the head and stud threads. That's the tried and true old timers way of getting one out that still has enough stud sticking out to grab on to.

Strangers advice is good and proven, it's about getting a slight amount of movement from the heat/cool, vibration from stud being hit with hammer and the Kroil oil creeping.

Good luck, a lot of us have gone thru the same growing pains your going thru today.

New seats are a great gift for the truck. Tarps and tires are ok but seats are best.
