I can get loads from there that go anywhere i want to go more or less but i dont try to run just that area so cant really say. Doesnt seem like it would be an issue but not gonna swear to it.

It's conceivable but I'd think you're leaving quite a bit of money on the table depending on what you're considering regional.
Midwest by far has the best freight rates with vans. I don't run NC much but I tend to find the SE a little cheap.
As a first time O/O, have lots of money saved up for emergencies, whether you have a new truck or old truck...I'd recommend $10k.

Flat has a slow season. It almost always slows down in the winter simply because if the nature of open deck. There is less construction going on in the country. However, freight is still decent up north because it's cold and snowy and no one wants to go. I've not really seen much of a drop this year, if anything, it looks like it's up, definitely up over last year. That being said, it' not after the first yet, we shall see what happens in January.

The last week of january to the last week of February is the slowest part of the year. Also the first couple days following any major holiday feels slow. But that's more of an illusion because the week leading up to the holiday was exceptionally busy.

So i decided not to replace my Vibration damper.. When i had issue with the water pump last time they used an air gun to put the vibration damper back on... Well i can't break the dam thing lose and don't wanna break a bolt. That will go into a shop least thats only 2 hours of labor lol
