Mr. Spyder, for the past several days I have been up north playing in all the snow. On my drive axel tep gages the front axel has been reading around 200>250 being empty and the rear axel gage around 120>150. Today when I loaded 45000 on the deck and about 2500 under the deck ( ice) The front axel gage returned to a normal reading. During this time. I stopped and felt the axel housing and it was cold. Is this a sensor failure, or maybe ice slug effecting the sensor? I don't recall ever seeing this before when I had a company truck.

My axle temps always read about 25° different, but when it's raining they both barely read above a 100°.
I'd bet your sensor or possibly connection is bad. Start with the connection, it's kinda right there in all the elements of salt and road spray.

I was thinking that may be the reason. And I was thinking about crawling under the truck and cleaning it off. But I could feel the pumpkin from above and said the helx with that.

Heck no!!! Me and a buddy who had experience putting systems in rented a mini track hoe and bought all the stuff.
Had the tank delivered and did the install in one weekend. Less than two grand. We were in a county with no building codes though. Otherwise I would have needed to pay someone to "use" their installer's license and it would have required an inspection. I'm sure someone would have needed the cash.

Well I have been loading at this one shipper quite often that loads 6' super sacks. And when I hired on with Mercer I purchased 3- 18X24 steel tarps and I had 2- 8" lumber tarps. I didn't want to use them on the super sack loads so I would use my steel tarp. For convenience I figured I would get the 6' drops and use them for my steel loads as well. So now I carry 2- 6', 2-8', 1-18x 27 steel tarp.

  10. ####, here I am trying to save money to maybe get a newer truck or engine to sign on and you offer a 12v. I've always wanted a Powerliner and I've got the perfect recipient parked out back...hmm..I'd love a shot at it if you decide you don't need it but I shouldn't try owning it just yet. On another note I'm 1700 pages in and I've decided I earned the right to a question so please don't fry me. I live about 45 minutes south of Effingham Il or 2hrs west of Evansville, IN on I64. Who is the closest flatbed agent to me and I know it all varies but hypothetically if you lived here how often you think you could get home and gross say $15000 a month? I'm not baseing a life altering decision on this. I'm just curious how often i could get by the house with two kids and still make money. Of course its a ratio if u run or sit. There just aren't allot of flat beds around here and I would think this area would pretty good. Ok let me have it. Lol.

I'll be the good cop...I have been here just shy of a year. You pick your loads, you work when you want. You make the money you want. Mercer won't hold your hand It's up to you. I'm sure you have read those in the post. I worked hard as a company driver. I have discovered I don't need to work like a dog to bring home more money and work less.
